Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with the President of France

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron and informed his French colleague on the death of four Ukrainian servicemen as a result of the shelling. The Head of State noted that it wasn’t the first shelling by the enemy aimed to disrupt the peace process initiated by the Ukrainian party. The President of Ukraine also informed Emmanuel Macron of the other steps aimed at the peaceful settlement of the situation in the east of Ukraine, particularly the restoration of infrastructure, exchange of captives, etc.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also informed of his conversation with President of Russia Vladimir Putin, which took place this morning. During this conversation, the Ukrainian President urged to fulfill the obligations concerning ceasefire, return of sailors and other captives. The President also urged the leaders of the Normandy four to convene immediately to preserve the peace process and coordinate future steps aimed at final resolution to the situation.

Emmanuel Macron expressed full support for the initiatives of Ukraine, agreed with the necessity of the immediate holding of the meeting at the highest level, which should be preceded by the meeting of the official representatives of all four parties. He added that he would contact President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel to coordinate the given initiative.
