President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković.
"I would like to congratulate you on a convincing victory in the parliamentary elections," the President said, wishing the interlocutor a speedy conclusion of coalition talks and the formation of a new government.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Andrej Plenković discussed measures taken in Ukraine and Croatia to minimize the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on citizens, especially given the peak tourist season.
The President of Ukraine expressed support for the citizens of Croatia who were affected by the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, and wished a speedy recovery to all those infected.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the Prime Minister of Croatia to join efforts to properly coordinate and inform in advance about possible changes in the order of crossing the border by our citizens. In particular, the parties discussed recent changes that require Ukrainian tourists to undergo a 14-day observation or PCR test two days before arriving in Croatia.
"I am grateful for the understanding of the necessity to revise conditions for Ukrainian tourists imposed due to COVID-19. Croatia has become one of the tourist "magnets" for our citizens," the President of Ukraine noted.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also congratulated Croatia on the completion of its first presidency of the Council of the European Union. In particular, he noted the holding of a video meeting of the Eastern Partnership during the Croatian presidency.
"I believe that the next EU-Ukraine summit will open a new page in our cooperation. In particular, we expect that Croatia will continue to support Ukraine's European integration aspirations," the President said.
The Prime Minister of Croatia stressed the strong support for Ukraine’s European integration aspirations and the advancement of our country on the path of reforms.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also told the interlocutor about the security situation in Donbas and the implementation of the agreements reached at the summit of the "Normandy Four" in Paris in December 2019.
Andrej Plenković expressed condolences over the death of Ukrainian servicemen in Donbas.
The President of Ukraine thanked the Croatian side for its traditional support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Andrej Plenković also discussed the measures of political dialogue for the near future and agreed on the importance of maintaining the positive dynamics of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
"It is very important to ensure the regular work of the Joint Ukrainian-Croatian Commission for Economic Cooperation," the President said. The parties agreed to hold its second meeting in Kyiv.
Andrej Plenković stressed that he would be glad to visit Kyiv at the invitation of the President of Ukraine and invited Volodymyr Zelenskyy to pay a visit to Croatia.
