President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of the State of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu.
The President congratulated the Israeli Prime Minister on his accession to office and wished him success in his work.
"Congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister and the formation of your government. I am impressed by your political skills - the story of the formation of the unity government is incredible," the President of Ukraine said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine and Israel have always been and will continue to be reliable friends and partners. The parties discussed areas of further cooperation and agreed to join forces in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Israel is an example of an effective fight against the pandemic. I would be grateful to your government for providing humanitarian assistance, as well as for sharing best practices in the fight against coronavirus," the President said.
Benjamin Netanyahu noted that the Israeli government will consider Ukraine's request, emphasizing the friendly relations between the two countries.
The Head of State noted that in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, support for bilateral trade is especially important for both countries. He called on the Israeli party to complete the ratification of the bilateral Free Trade Agreement signed on January 21, 2019 as soon as possible. The interlocutors also discussed projects of interest to Israeli investors in Ukraine, in particular the prospects of Israeli participation in the construction of the international airport and the highway in Cherkasy.
Benjamin Netanyahu invited President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to visit the State of Israel after the stabilization of the pandemic situation.
