President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with the new President of Switzerland, Karin Keller-Sutter, and congratulated her on assuming office.
The Ukrainian leader expressed his gratitude for all of Switzerland’s political and humanitarian support, including the successful organization of the first Peace Summit and participation in thematic conferences that followed, as well as for the willingness to work together in the pursuit of a just and sustainable peace for Ukraine and all of Europe.
The President of Ukraine particularly acknowledged Switzerland's annual contributions to the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program and invited the country to join the new Ukrainian initiative, Food from Ukraine, aimed at supporting the Syrian people and preventing a food crisis in Syria. Under this program, our state will supply agricultural products to Syria. The first 500 tons of Ukrainian wheat flour have already been sent to Syria. Ukraine calls on its partners to join the initiative and help restore stability in Syria, which is also a shared contribution to protecting lives worldwide.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Karin Keller-Sutter agreed to continue the dialogue at their personal meeting scheduled for the near future.
