Volodymyr Zelenskyy about citizens in the occupied territories: Ukraine is our home, we just live in different rooms temporarily now

Ukraine will never give up on citizens living in the temporarily occupied territories, and it is very important that they receive objective information about the situation in our country. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview for Dom TV channel.

"If we want to return Donbas, I have always said that the territories are very important, but first of all, (we must return - ed.) people. Because it is difficult for people there to withstand information attacks and hardships and to remain a Ukrainian in their head, soul and heart. Because people need to survive, they have to feed their children," the Head of State said.

The President is convinced that the residents of the occupied territories should not agree and accept the situation in which they found themselves. Despite all the difficulties and dangers, they must not forget Ukraine and must tell their children the truth about our country, because the information victory is more powerful "than any bullets".

"Independence Day (of Ukraine - ed.) - yes, celebrate it. Maybe quietly, without hoisting a flag on the balcony, because they can come and kill you. Don’t do that - save your life. But children need to be told who they are. Although in the occupied schools they are temporarily taught absolute nonsense," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

And for the residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea to have objective information about Ukraine and know that they are welcome here, our state has launched a Dom TV channel broadcasted in Russian both in the temporarily occupied territories and in the controlled ones. After all, it also serves as a channel of communication for internally displaced persons with their home, which they were forced to leave.

"It's not about finances, it's about our values. This is really our home. Our home is Ukraine. And we address them and say: we live in one house. Temporarily - in different rooms. We are all under one roof," the President said.
