In Lviv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with students of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
According to UCU Rector Taras Dobko, 95% of this year’s incoming students received state grants for their education.
"I am very glad that there is grant support, and that you are here in Ukraine, with Ukraine in your hearts. It’s so important that you’re here, that you’re young and talented. And I would like to thank the educational institutions of this level in our country," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Around 200 students from various faculties and programs attended the meeting. Special attention was given to the issue of how to bring back young people who had left the country due to the war.
"The first step is to unite those people who are abroad – not around everything, but around values. Around the idea that we need to restore and rebuild a peaceful Ukraine after the war ends," the President emphasized.
The Head of State stressed the importance of engaging with Ukrainians abroad, not pushing them away, and providing more services and support. This was the purpose behind the creation of the Ministry of National Unity.
Among other issues raised by the students were support for youth and their initiatives, involvement in Ukraine’s recovery, and legislative efforts.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the students for their active participation and engagement. All the issues and proposals raised will be addressed by government institutions and discussed with members of parliament.
