Volodymyr Zelenskyy Thanked Troops Taking Part in the Kursk Operation

In the Sumy region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the command posts of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynskyi and the 82nd Bukovynska Separate Air Assault Brigade.

Commander of the 36th Marine Brigade Mykyta Vitek briefed the President on the operational situation along the front in the Kursk region, the brigade’s ongoing tasks, and the intentions of Russian forces.

He also shared the brigade’s experience in using fiber-optic drones and its cooperation within the Drone Line project.

The President met with unit commanders as well. The parties discussed the issue of increasing the state’s order for officer training.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the warriors for their service and presented them with the Orders “For Courage” II and III class, and the Medal “For Military Service to Ukraine.”

“Thank you for what you are doing in the east of our country, in the Donetsk direction, and in the Kherson region. Thank you also for defending the Sumy region – for this operation. We highly value your service. Take care of yourselves, and thank you once again for preserving Ukraine,” said the Head of State.

Commander of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade Volodymyr Hutsul briefed the President on the combat situation in his brigade’s defense zone and reported on the tactics used by North Korean troops.

The President also spoke with company and battalion commanders about how to advance the development of unmanned systems. The warriors offered proposals on military training, particularly extending the time allocated for unit coordination.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the defenders for everything they do for Ukraine and awarded them with the Orders “For Courage” III class.

“Above all, I want to thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do. Thank you for defending our families and Ukraine. I’ve long wanted to thank you personally and present these awards – for this direction, for the Kursk operation. Although, of course, what the brigade is doing in the Vovchansk direction is also critically important. But this operation has saved many, many lives,” the President said.
