Volodymyr Zelenskyy Thanked Rescuers for Helping Ukrainians Affected by Russian Strikes

A Russian missile strike on Zaporizhzhia has left 52 people injured, including rescuers, and claimed the life of one person. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared this update in his evening address.

The President expressed gratitude to the rescuers for their assistance to people after Russian attacks, emphasizing that their work sustains the entire nation. Volodymyr Zelenskyy specifically acknowledged the efforts of State Emergency Service workers from the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Donetsk regions.

Zaporizhzhia region SES workers: Andriy Eikhvald, driver of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Unit, Oleksiy Kovalenko, firefighter-rescuer of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Unit, Kostiantyn Kostenko, crew commander of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Unit, Oleksiy Perevierziev, senior firefighter-rescuer of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Unit who were wounded in a second Russian strike during rescue operations.

Kherson region SES workers: Viktor Fysunenko, head of the engineering service of the emergency response and readiness department, who was also injured in Zaporizhzhia, Artem Ozerchuk, driver of the 3rd State Fire and Rescue Unit and Bohdan Kolisnichenko, crew commander of the 3rd State Fire and Rescue Unit.

Donetsk region rescuers: Vladyslav Karpenko and Oleksiy Hayevskyi, firefighters-rescuers of the 40th State Fire and Rescue Unit, Mykhailo Horpinenko, driver of the 51st State Fire and Rescue Unit, Oleksandr Kobyliatskyi and Illia Bulkhov, firefighters-rescuers of the 51st State Fire and Rescue Unit.
