President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with President of the European Council Charles Michel.
The key focus of the meeting was on the aggravation of the security situation in eastern Ukraine. The President briefed his interlocutor in detail on the developments that have taken place since the joint visit of the leaders of Ukraine and the EU to Donbas on March 2 this year.
"We appreciate the European Union's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. A decisive and adequate reaction on the part of the international community is a guarantee of preventing further escalation and saving lives,” the President of Ukraine stressed.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Charles Michel discussed in detail the initiative of the Crimean Platform and its content.
The interlocutors also agreed to approve shortly the date of the 23rd Ukraine-EU Summit to be held in Kyiv in the second half of the year.
