Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked law enforcers and special services for the hostage-rescue operation

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a traditional conference call with government representatives and law enforcers discussing the COVID-19 situation and the release of hostages in Lutsk.

Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov informed that the Cabinet of Ministers will consider the resolution today, which determines new norms of quarantine. In particular, the quarantine norms imposed in Ukraine will be harmonized with the European ones. Approaches to the morbidity indicators will also change. Calculations will be made not by the number of patients, but by the dynamics of morbidity, as is done in the countries of the European Union.

At the meeting, the President paid special attention to the law enforcement agencies.

"I thank all the special services, law enforcement agencies: the Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard - all those who worked so well yesterday in the hostage-rescue operation," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The Head of State was also informed that law enforcement officers are on high alert in places where there are reports of mine-laying. They also continue to work on monitoring compliance with quarantine. In total, more than 14,000 law enforcement officers, cadets, National Guard and Armed Forces servicemen are involved in measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus and enhance public safety. Since the beginning of such events, almost 20,000 administrative protocols have been drawn up on violations of quarantine rules. The courts imposed fines in the amount of UAH 7.7 million total.
