Volodymyr Zelenskyy Supports Transition to a Corps Management System in the Armed Forces of Ukraine If It Reduces Bureaucracy

If the corps management system in the Armed Forces of Ukraine reduces bureaucracy, it should be implemented. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting with media representatives at the Third International Summit on Food Security, Grain from Ukraine.

“It is up to the military to decide. If the corps system they are proposing today will reduce the gap between a general and a soldier, if this bureaucracy will be reduced, let them do their best to reduce it,” the Head of State noted.

The President stressed that the current task is to reduce bureaucracy within the army. In particular, this should be addressed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

“An officer must see a soldier. For me personally, a general who has never stepped into a trench is not a general. Despite their experience. With all due respect. Today, the toughest situation is on the frontline, in the trench,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

According to the President, it is important not just to discuss problematic issues at the Staff meetings or in the command headquarters, but also to communicate directly with the soldiers.

“That is why Syrskyi is constantly at the front, constantly traveling. We communicate every day, twice a day. He delivers a morning and an evening report. But it is still not enough. The generals must be in the trenches. This is that kind of war. The morale of the military personnel is the most important thing,” the President emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that Putin's main task now is to push Ukrainian troops out of the Kursk region by January 20.

“It is very important for him to demonstrate that he is in control of the situation. He is not in control of the situation. The Kursk operation is not a toy. We have shown that Putin is incapable of fully defending his state. He has thrown everything into the occupation and destruction of Ukraine,” the Head of State said.

In addition, the Russian dictator wants to show that he will allegedly achieve his declared goal of occupying the entire Donbas region.

“This is the reason for our respective results. Difficulties in the East – yes. Insufficient number of armed forces there – yes. There are various reasons for the shortage. In particular, slow deliveries – yes. But nevertheless, we are there. We are defending our homeland. And Putin has never had such losses as he has today in the Kursk direction," the President explained.
