During a working trip to the Poltava region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the Vasyl Krychevsky Poltava Local Lore Museum.
Director of the museum Oleksandr Suprunenko noted that this is one of the most visited museums in Ukraine. More than 220,000 people come here every year. The museum has more than 300,000 exhibits.
The President also got himself acquainted with the opportunities for the development of the region's tourism potential and the objects selected for implementation within the "25 Magnets" initiative.
Deputy Head of the Poltava regional state administration Kateryna Ryzhechenko spoke about the main tourist routes in the Poltava region. Among the prominent tourist places of the region she mentioned the Vasyl Krychevsky Poltava Local Lore Museum, the Opishnya Museum of Ukrainian Pottery, the Myrhorod Resort, and the Gogol National Museum-Reserve. The Deputy Head of the regional state administration also mentioned recreational, active, archeological, gastronomic, industrial, rural and festival tourism.
"We see long-term prospects in quarantine. No industry owes so much to quarantine as the domestic tourism industry. Therefore, in October we will present "Virtual Travels in the Poltava Region" interactive map,” Kateryna Ryzhechenko.
She also stressed the importance of completing the repair and restoration work in the building of the Poltava Philharmonic.
"It was submitted to the list of "Great Construction" in culture. We consider it necessary," Kateryna Ryzhechenko said.
Poltava RSA Head Oleh Syniehubov noted he is working on the issue of inclusion of Reshetylivka embroidery "white on white" in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, as well as the renovation of the Opishnya Museum of Ukrainian Pottery. In addition, it is planned to begin the restoration of the Vasyl Krychevsky Poltava Local Lore Museum in 2021.
The Head of State also got himself acquainted with the course of construction works in the Center for Administrative Services of the City of Poltava carried out in the framework of the National Program "Great Construction".
