During a working trip to the Zaporizhzhia region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy got himself acquainted with the construction of a highway across the Dnieper River in the regional center.
Speaking to the media, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the construction of a large bridge in Zaporizhzhia was not only an important symbol for the citizens. By implementing this priority project, local authorities will be able to demonstrate the ability to work for the results.
"As we said, we started building this bridge. According to the team's plans, it will take two years from the signing of the contracts. I think it's fast. Let's see. We really want to build it," the President said.
He also noted that there were many bridges in Ukraine, and a significant number of them needed to be repaired and restored, so next year a separate program for bridges would be envisaged in the framework of the "Great Construction".
The President stressed that the local elections, which would take place in the fall of this year, would be an opportunity for the people of Zaporizhzhia to choose a government willing and capable of achieving changes for the better.
"We need to do something, somehow change the reality in which we live. And I am sure that these changes will come," Volodymyr Zelenskyy summed up.
