President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects the European Union to cancel restrictions on importing Ukrainian agricultural products from September 15. The Head of State said this during a conversation with media representatives following the negotiations with President of Poland Andrzej Duda and President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda in Kyiv.
"This is an important moment for us. Especially when Russia blocks our grain initiative, we should at least be able to transit. Transit is also complicated today. But still, this issue goes beyond the bilateral relations of Ukraine and Poland – this issue has already been brought to the level of the European Union," Zelenskyy said.
"We will see how everything will be unlocked. But honorable Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen has promised me personally that there can be no extension of the blockade after (September) 15. We will believe it," the Head of State said.
The President of Poland, for his part, said that there are certain solutions to ensure freer trade but there are still issues that need to be streamlined, which will take time. Duda hopes that after working out the relevant mechanisms, the bans will be lifted as soon as possible.
