All families affected by the explosion in a high-rise residential building in Kyiv late June have received new housing, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
"Unfortunately, we cannot return relatives to the families who lost loved ones due to the explosion. But we have done what we promised," the head of state said.
According to him, due to lengthy red tape procedures and paperwork, the process of providing new housing is usually delayed, but today all residents of the apartments destroyed by the explosion received new apartments.
"I am grateful to our team, we have done it. We promised (to give apartments) before the end of the summer – and we did it. Everyone has finally got new apartments in new houses," the President said.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, it is now the responsibilities of local authorities to help the victims with the renovation of the premises to provide people with comfortable living conditions.
