President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa.
The Head of State outlined the steps Ukraine is taking to advance a just peace and emphasized the critical importance of global efforts by all nations that respect the principles of the UN Charter on that path.
The Ukrainian President praised South Africa’s leadership as the G20 chair this year and expressed gratitude for the participation of South African representatives in thematic conferences based on Ukraine’s Peace Formula. Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed that South Africa contribute to the return of Ukrainian children illegally deported by Russia and invited the country to join the International Coalition for this cause.
The leaders also discussed the possibility of South Africa’s involvement in the treatment and rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian citizens.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Cyril Ramaphosa instructed their foreign ministers to prepare reciprocal visits of the leaders.
