President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak.
The main attention was paid to preparations for the Global Peace Summit that will take place in Switzerland on June 15-16.
“I am sure that even in the midst of the pre-election period, the United Kingdom will be represented at the Summit at the highest level,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The leaders also discussed the continuation of defense cooperation. The priorities include air defense strengthening and long-range capabilities. The President noted the permission of the United Kingdom to hit military targets on the territory of Russia. He emphasized that this will prevent Russian occupiers' attempts to expand the war and will save lives.
The interlocutors exchanged views on additional opportunities for joint training missions and interoperability of the Ukrainian Defense and Security Forces with NATO.
