President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The head of the Ukrainian state thanked the leader of Türkiye for the fruitful meeting in Istanbul, which took place on July 7, and also noted the principled position of the Republic of Türkiye regarding the support of Ukraine's future NATO membership.
The parties coordinated efforts to restore the operation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative. The President of Ukraine called unblocking the grain corridor an absolute priority.
"Due to Russia's actions, the world is once again on the brink of a food crisis. A total of 400 million people in many countries in Africa and Asia are at risk of starvation. With joint efforts, we must avert the global food crisis," Zelenskyy said.
In addition, the interlocutors touched on issues related to the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
The President of Ukraine called on Erdoğan to facilitate the return of Ukrainian POWs and political prisoners held by Russia, including Crimean Tatars.
