President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid who arrived for the inauguration of the newly elected Head of State.
The President of Ukraine thanked the President of Estonia for the warm congratulations on the occasion of assuming office.
He also expressed gratitude for Kersti Kaljulaid’s personal attention to the issue of Estonia’s support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, since she was the first leader of a foreign state to visit the delimitation line in the east of our country.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted the efforts of Estonia in supporting the European integration aspirations of Ukraine.
“Thank you for supporting Ukraine in the European Union,” the Head of State said.
The President also emphasized the leadership of Estonia in the introduction of modern technologies and expressed interest in cooperation with this country in the field of IT and strengthening cyber defense.
The participants of the meeting noted the importance of promoting the intensification of trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Estonia.
The President also stressed that the independence of the judicial system and the equality of all citizens before the law would be ensured during his presidency.
"I promise that there will be no "telephone law" during my presidency, no pressure on judges. We must establish unified rules for all, since all are equal before the law," Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
In turn, the President of Estonia emphasized: "We continue to be your friends".
