President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas.
The Head of State told the Estonian Prime Minister about Russia's attempts to launch missile strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine in the morning and emphasized the importance of further strengthening the Ukrainian air defense system. In particular, he said, it is necessary to bolster air defense in frontline cities: Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, as well as in Odesa region to protect the regional center and the infrastructure of the "grain corridor."
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also informed Kaja Kallas about Russia's unsuccessful attempts to obstruct civilian navigation in the Black Sea. He noted that, despite all the efforts of the Russian Federation, after the relaunch of the alternative "grain corridor" in the Black Sea, more than 7 million tons of cargo have already passed through it.
The President and the Prime Minister discussed the importance of preserving political and financial support for Ukraine from the EU. Particularly, the Head of State emphasized the necessity of unity in the issue of allocating €50 billion in aid to Ukraine.
The interlocutors also noted the importance of the adoption of the decision by the European Council on the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU. The President assured that Ukraine is fulfilling all its obligations to the EU in order to start such negotiations.
The two sides also discussed countering Russian disinformation and cooperation in strengthening cybersecurity.
