President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Italian Prime Minister for the comprehensive support for Ukraine and congratulated Italy on taking over the presidency of the Group of Seven.
The Head of State informed the interlocutor of the consequences of massive Russian missile strikes on Ukrainian cities that led to fatalities and damaged civilian infrastructure.
The President also spoke about the situation on the battlefield.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Giorgia Meloni for the willingness to further assist in strengthening Ukrainian air defense, which is extremely important for saving lives and ensuring the possibility of normal existence for our country.
The leaders discussed further security cooperation, in particular joint defense production, which can strengthen not only Ukraine and Italy, but also the whole of Europe and make a significant contribution to global security.
The interlocutors paid special attention to preparations for a meeting of national security and political advisors on the implementation of the Peace Formula in Davos in January.
The President and the Prime Minister also instructed the teams to intensify bilateral work on security commitments for Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised Italy's support for our country at the level of the Group of Seven and in European institutions. He also thanked the Italian Republic for supporting Ukraine on the path to European integration.
The parties also discussed securing financial and political support for Ukraine from the European Union, which will be an important contribution to strengthening our country and enhancing its resilience in the war against the Russian aggressor.
