During a working trip to the Zaporizhzhia region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy got himself acquainted with the reconstruction of the highway of international importance M-18 Kharkiv - Yalta within the Great Construction national program.
Oleksandr Kubrakov, Head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor), informed the President about the work carried out at the site in the Zaporizhzhia region.
He noted that the M-18 Kharkiv-Simferopol-Alushta-Yalta highway provides transit traffic of trucks and cars from neighboring regions and runs through the cities of Zaporizhzhia, Vasylivka, Melitopol, which do not have bypass roads.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy was told that from the end of 2019 to 2020, more than 500 km of roads will be built in Zaporizhzhia.
"It's a really great result. Zaporizhzhia shows one of the best results in Ukraine. We thank all the services for all this," the President said during a conversation with media representatives in the Zaporizhzhia region.
"If you look at the statistics, so many roads have never been built in the Zaporizhzhia region in the entire history of Ukraine's independence. These are not virtual kilometers, these are kilometers already laid with the upper layers of asphalt concrete, almost 150 km only this year. And the season is just at its peak. I think we have proved that we can do it on roads of national importance. I think that after the elections we will prove that the result will be the same on local roads," Oleksandr Kubrakov said.
