During a working trip to the Donetsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the frontline of defense, where the enemy shelling has been taking place recently. The Ukrainian positions visited by the Head of State are located 700 meters from the enemy.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the servicemen on the frontline and got himself acquainted with the operational situation.
"Indeed, we see, and the servicemen notice a decrease in the number of shots - it has decreased significantly over the past 7-10 days. Although there are provocations, and, unfortunately, there are combat losses. However, thank God, it is thunder now, not shots,” the Head of State noted.
According to him, it is important to see that Ukrainian fighters are well armed and provided with everything they need, as well as to understand what they need.
"We always want to bring - and we bring - technical and military things that are really necessary for the safety of our boys and girls," added Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Head of State also noted the high morale of Ukrainian servicemen.
"Impressions from a visit to the frontline are always very positive - from the way our fighters look, from their looks, eyes - men and women, officers and ordinary soldiers," said the President, emphasizing that the faces of our defenders are always full of calm and heroism.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that civil servants and deputies should also come to the front more often to support the Ukrainian military and follow their example for bold steps for the sake of the state.
"It is always an honor for me to visit our defenders. I am inspired by their heroism. That's why I come with joy, with pride," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President also presented the soldiers with state awards and valuable gifts.
"I just want to thank each of you, each soldier, for defending Ukraine every day. I wish you and your families health and happiness. Come back alive," the Head of State stressed.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy had lunch with servicemen in the soldier's canteen.
