As part of the working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the location of the East Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and presented state awards to pilots.
The Head of State listened to the report of the commander of the East Air Force Command Ivan Terebukha on the air defense of cities, communities, critical infrastructure facilities and the front line.
The President was briefed on a series of Russian attacks on targets in Dnipropetrovsk region using UAVs and measures to enhance the effectiveness of Ukrainian mobile firing groups and electronic warfare to repel enemy drone strikes.
The parties also discussed the specifics of using Western and hybrid air defense systems and the prospects for bolstering the capabilities of the East Air Force Command, taking into account future arms supplies.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also spoke with the military and awarded combat pilots. The defenders of the sky received the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, I-II class, and the Orders "For Courage", I class, from the President.
"I see powerful warriors who protect our skies and defend Ukraine, our homes, our people – children and adults – in the sky. Thank you for your accuracy, for the destruction of the enemy. I wish you all health and victory. Please convey our gratitude to your brothers-in-arms as well," the Head of State said.
