President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that after the recent release of 20 Ukrainians illegally detained in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, negotiations are underway to bring back citizens held captive in the occupied Crimea and in the Russian Federation.
“The next step is that we want to exchange those people who are either in Crimea or the Russian Federation. It is a little more complicated, because we have coronavirus in parallel... All over the world. But we understand that life does not stop on coronavirus," the Head of State noted during the talk show "Freedom of Speech by Savik Shuster".
Volodymyr Zelenskyy reminded that the Ukrainian party in the Trilateral Contact Group had offered, and other participants supported, to hold the negotiations in a video format, so that they could be continued in case of need, not on schedule.
“At the beginning of each week we have a video-Minsk. We want to move forward. Because it is the only thing that brings us closer to solving this issue globally (end of the war - ed.),” the President emphasized.
