Volodymyr Zelenskyy: We appreciate Estonia’s firm stance of categorical rejection of Russia's actions in Crimea and Donbas

Ukraine appreciates Estonia's strong position on support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country, as well as on condemning Russian aggression against the Ukrainian state, as stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a meeting with President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid in Kyiv.

"We strongly appreciate your active and firm stance - both personal and state - in support of our sovereignty, condemnation of Russian aggression against Ukraine and categorical rejection of the Russian Federation's actions in Crimea and Donbas," the Head of State said at a joint press conference with the President of Estonia.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Kersti Kaljulaid's visit to Kyiv was another manifestation of her strong support for Ukraine.

"I will note separately the decision made by Estonia on the non-recognition of Russian passports illegally issued in the temporarily occupied territories of the Ukrainian Donbas," the President of Ukraine emphasized.

He also thanked Estonia for its assistance in various spheres, especially for the treatment and rehabilitation of the Ukrainian military.

For her part, Kersti Kaljulaid emphasized that the war in eastern Ukraine and the occupation of Crimea were the things that could not be accepted. "And we will recall this again and again at the international level," she said.

At the same time, the President of Estonia said that Ukraine and the international community should look for ways to end the war in Donbas, and the recent mutual release of the detained persons could be a "significant step on that path".

"But this cannot be the price of Ukraine's sovereignty," the President of Estonia summarized.
