President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the Cabinet of Ministers with a proposal to establish two State Awards: in the field of science - named after Borys Paton and in the field of art - named after Myroslav Skoryk.
"Today I submitted letters to the government on the establishment of two awards: for a significant contribution to the development of science and scientific achievements - the Borys Paton State Award, and for a significant contribution to the development of music - the Myroslav Skoryk State Award," the President said during the festivities on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the mentioned personalities were outstanding figures, geniuses of modern times, who created our history and gained fame for Ukraine in the world.
According to the President, Myroslav Skoryk and Borys Paton deserve to be perpetuated by establishing awards named after them.
"Let's never forget. We have someone and something to be proud of. Our country has many treasures, especially scientific ones. Our country has a rich history, especially the musical history of independence," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
