Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Fumio Kishida discussed the development of bilateral cooperation and preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida.

The Head of State emphasized the leadership role of Japan in supporting our country during its presidency in the Group of Seven. The President praised the statement of the G7 Foreign Ministers following the meeting in Tokyo stating that the support for Ukraine remains unflagging despite other global challenges.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Fumio Kishida agreed to develop cooperation in collective and bilateral formats. In particular, they discussed the continuation of active work on the conclusion of bilateral security guarantees in the framework of the G7 Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine and preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference to be held in February 2024 in Japan.

The Head of State thanked Prime Minister Fumio Kishida for this year's significant contribution to the energy security of our country and the provision of necessary equipment, particularly powerful transformers and turbines. The President of Ukraine also praised the resumption of JICA office activities in Kyiv.

The parties discussed further macro-financial support for Ukraine.

The Head of State noted the active role of Japan in the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and expressed gratitude for the participation of the Japanese representative in the third meeting of national security and foreign policy advisors on the implementation of the points of the Formula and principles of restoring peace in our country.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Japan to join the second international summit of the "Grain from Ukraine" program.
