During the working trip to the Dnipropetrovsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy debriefed of the road conditions in the region.
The President asked Acting Head of the State Road Agency of Ukraine Slavomir Novak who is responsible for the reconstruction of the bypass road in Dnipro about the timescale for the repair. The Head of State added that according to the information provided to him, the funding of Ukravtodor for operational purposes had been increased over the past years. At the same time, there were not enough funds for the roads.
“This issue hasn’t been solved for years. It is about the bypass and the road to Kryvyi Rih. Let us complete these two objects, reach an agreement that we will complete the roads to Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol. We must find money for these roads,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
According to Slavomir Novak, two years are required to complete these two roads given the capabilities of the construction companies and the funding.
The parties agreed to make maximum efforts and complete the construction in two years.
In turn, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Oleksiy Goncharuk emphasized that there was information that each region had people influencing the decisions on the winning bidders.
“We provide you these surnames and you can dismiss these people. Dismiss and submit (the information - ed.) to the law enforcement bodies,” the President emphasized, addressing Slavomir Novak.
