If Russia seizes Ukrainian territories and kills Ukrainians with impunity, it can set an example for other states in any part of the world, so the whole world must join in the fight against the aggressor, and in no case can you get tired of the war in Ukraine. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with the student community of major Canadian universities.
"As for democracy, when we say that we are fighting for common values, it is absolutely true, because war has no distance. We are fighting for the same values that you and any country that wants to live in a democratic world have. Just to choose how to live, where to study, what to eat, what to do, who to love - this is the right to choose. This is the most precious thing we have. This is the most important meaning of democracy - your right to choose," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, answering students' questions.
He stressed that allowing the President of Russia and the Russian army to seize the territories of other countries, destroy cities and kill people would be an example for other states to do the same.
"There are probably other such leaders in the world. And if it works here (in Ukraine - ed.), it can work at the other end of the world, on any continent. This cannot be allowed to anyone. That is why it is necessary to take preventive steps and punish even if a person only thinks about it," the Head of State said.
According to him, the whole world should be involved in counteracting the aggressor, and this must be done as powerfully as if this war is taking place on their territory. Then there will be a result.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated that Ukraine needs weapons, financial, humanitarian support and constant sanctions pressure on the aggressor.
"All this will never be too much as long as the war lasts," he said.
The President called on students from around the world studying in Canada to appeal to the leadership of their countries about the importance of supporting Ukraine.
"Each and every one of you can do it. Everyone is getting tired of the war, so by your actions, thanks to social networks, communication with friends, taking to the squares of the cities of your countries, supporting Ukraine, do not let anyone above, in bureaucratic corridors, forget about what is happening in Ukraine, forget about war. Please do not get tired of the war. Do not get tired of the war in Ukraine," Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged.
