Volodymyr Zelenskyy: It is important for Ukraine to preserve Ukrainian language schools in Slovakia

There are no problems or misunderstandings between Ukraine and Slovakia in ensuring the rights and interests of national minorities. This was emphasized by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his statement to the media after a meeting with President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová in Bratislava.

"We discussed the issue of ensuring the rights and interests of our national minorities - Ukrainian in Slovakia and Slovak in Ukraine. It is nice that there are no problems and negative factors in the current interaction between us," he said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that preserving a network of schools for learning the Ukrainian language and supporting Ukrainian education in Slovakia by the state leadership is important for the Ukrainian party.

Also, according to him, during a meeting with Zuzana Čaputová, the parties agreed to cooperate to minimize the negative consequences of the pandemic for bilateral trade.

"We look forward to continuing the dialogue on expanding trade and economic cooperation during the next meeting of the Ukrainian-Slovak Joint Commission," the President of Ukraine said.
