Volodymyr Zelenskyy: This year about 200 kilometers of roads will be built in the Mykolaiv region

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is on a working trip to the Mykolaiv Region, got himself acquainted with the completion of the overhaul of the state road H-14 Oleksandrivka - Kropyvnytskyi - Mykolaiv, restored in the framework of the National Program "Great Construction".

The total length of the route is 82.5 km. The Head of State inspected the repaired part near the village of Kapustyne.

"We met last year and said we would definitely make this road. I am very pleased that we see infrastructural changes in the Mykolaiv region. We see that about 200 kilometers of roads this year in the Mykolaiv region will be constructed completely,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy told during communication with mass media representatives after road inspection.

He noted that a new high-quality road surface was laid, not just patch work as in previous years.

The H-14 route will be concrete, which will not only make the road more durable, but also solve the problem of surface melting due to high temperatures in the summer. To date, a leveling foundation was laid and almost 58 km of the road were reinforced with cement; the top layer from heavy concrete was put on 45 km; sidewalks, traffic lay-bys, boarding areas and car pavilions were equipped. Work on the organization of traffic on the section of 14 km is also being completed. The updated highway will be equipped with modern systems of automatic size-weight control Weigh-in-Motion.

"This is a capital, serious, powerful road. I think it will be durable for 50 years - that's what the builders say," the President said.

The Head of State stressed that the work on this road is planned to be completed by the end of the year, which is a very fast pace.

As Mykolaiv RSA Head Oleksandr Stadnik told Volodymyr Zelenskyy, record-breaking 4,4 billion UAH was allocated from the budget for the repair of roads in the Mykolaiv region. UAH 1.8 billion was allocated specially for the reconstruction of the H-14 highway.

"If ambitious plans and quality of roads are fulfilled this year, and we see the result, next year, I think, we will increase the volume of construction of roads in the Mykolaiv region two and a half times,” the Head of State added.

Next year, it is planned to make projects for construction of 500 km of roads in the Mykolaiv region.
