In Uzhhorod, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with leaders of territorial communities and districts of the Zakarpattia region.
“Thank you for supporting the army, helping our people, and welcoming relocated businesses – many enterprises have resettled here. During wartime, we must work to support not only our nation’s defense capabilities but also the citizens of Ukraine. Thank you for supporting the people in your communities,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Among the main topics of the meeting was the involvement of territorial communities in developing the internal Strengthening Plan and the importance of Ukrainian unity.
“This Plan is being developed with great attention to detail. Naturally, there is a role for the communities in it. You will receive the first draft of this plan, with sections highlighting how communities can best support every citizen locally,” the President noted.
The President emphasized the importance of cooperating with partner-country communities that have the potential to bolster the Ukrainian military.
Special attention was given to security guarantees for Ukraine from allies, integration with the EU and NATO, and dialogue between the Hungarian community in Zakarpattia and Hungary.
Additional discussions focused on building industrial parks, developing border checkpoints, repairing roads, extending government subventions for free meals for primary school students, and cooperation with foreign businesses.
