During a working trip to the Zhytomyr region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Sergei Pavlovich Korolyov Museum of Cosmonautics.
The Head of State got himself acquainted with the history of cosmonautics, as well as with the unique exhibits of the museum. In particular, Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally flew on a spacecraft simulator.
The Head of State left a note in the Book of Honored Guests and talked to the museum staff.
During a conversation, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked for the preservation of this space known not only in Ukraine, but also abroad.
"This is a value, this is history ... Outstanding people from your region have done a lot for Ukraine - both Ukrainians and Ukrainian science - to be in space," the President said.
The Head of State also congratulated the museum staff on granting the institution the status of "National". The relevant decree was signed by the President today.
"Authorities change, but real values remain. That's why I decided to confer the national status, so that all this would be preserved, so that the state would support your museum, all of you, everyone,” he said.
"We want to help modernize your museum, promote it," Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.
In addition, the President reminded that next year, in the framework of the National Program "Great Construction", the renovation of museums, theaters and historical and cultural heritage sites will begin in Ukraine.
"It is very important for us that, in addition to roads and bridges, there is something left for the development of our children and us," the Head of State stressed.
