The friendly tone of negotiations between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda during his recent visit to Ukraine and the increased attention of both countries to the practical component of cooperation testify to a real reboot of bilateral dialogue. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva in an interview for Ukrinform news agency.
"The key and undeniable positive aspect of the visit is the confirmation of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Poland. This means that Kyiv and Warsaw are ready to cooperate on a wide range of issues in the political, security, trade and economic, energy, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres," he said.
Ihor Zhovkva noted that the intentions of the two states were enshrined in a joint statement by Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Andrzej Duda.
"The good tone of negotiations between the Presidents, the agreed signals voiced by them during the joint press conference, the increased attention of both countries to the practical component of cooperation - all this proves a real reboot of bilateral dialogue," Ihor Zhovkva added.
The Deputy Head of the Office of the President expects that following the meetings and talks with Polish partners, tangible changes in the bilateral dialogue content will take place, cooperation in trade and investment spheres will be intensified, and progress will be made in the issues that have remained "on hold" for years.
According to him, the implementation of these tasks should be facilitated by the regular activities of the Advisory Committee of the Presidents of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland at the level of diplomatic advisers to the heads of state.
The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine plans to visit Warsaw by the end of the year, where a regular meeting of the renewed Advisory Committee is to take place agreeing on a calendar of top-priority measures of bilateral political dialogue and determining the algorithm for implementing the decisions of the Presidents of Ukraine and Poland.
