The challenges of the war spurred the development of technologies in Ukraine, and after the end of hostilities, the restoration of the energy sector, as well as the development of the mining and processing industry will be relevant. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy while answering questions at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum.
"About 40% of our energy industry was damaged, so energy is highly relevant. Gas production is also relevant," the Head of State said.
In addition, according to him, the IT industry is growing in Ukraine even in the face of a full-scale Russian invasion.
“There are 100 percent downsides of war, but some of the technology we developed before a full-scale invasion actually worked. We have stability in the IT field, we were protected from cyber attacks," the President noted.
As Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted, thanks to the development of IT, the majority of public services in Ukraine are provided in electronic format.
"Technologies are also being developed because of war. We said today that we will build a fleet of naval drones, and many such technologies are also being developed. We see great potential in this," he said.
Agriculture traditionally remains one of the important sectors of the Ukrainian economy. The President emphasized that Ukraine is open to investors and invites global companies to cooperate in various fields, in particular in the mining and processing industries.
“I think your investment will be backed not only by your desire, but also by protection. We started a conversation with the World Bank. Yesterday I had a meeting with the Vice-President (of the World Bank - ed.), and we will start a "pilot" with them regarding investment insurance in Ukraine. I think it will also help and give business confidence to invest in Ukraine today," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In addition, the President noted that after the war, the economic, political and information influence of Russia will disappear in our country.
"There will be no influence of Russian capital in Ukraine - they either left our enterprises, or we pushed them out. The political party is banned and they will not participate in the next elections. There will be no information impact on our development, on the geopolitical direction either," he said.
According to the Head of State, with the beginning of the war, many big corrupt figures left Ukraine, instead, the Ukrainian people united around the defense of their country.
"The main things we should pay attention to are the following: we are united, there are those left who want to defend their state. No one will be able to forgive corruption in the future Ukraine. We have all experienced very difficult challenges and a very difficult time," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President noted: the fight against corruption is facilitated by the provision of services in an electronic format, which makes it impossible for officials to interfere in business operations.
"This testifies to the independence of the economy, finances, and transparency of investments," the Head of State summed up.
