One of the key tasks of the Ukrainian state is the social security of navy men and members of their families, as stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a speech at the festivities on the occasion of the Day of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Odesa.
"The most important thing we should always remember and take care of is the people. These are our navy men, their families, decent material and social security for them. This is the number one task," the President said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that today Ukrainian sailors would receive more than 70 apartments. In particular, sailors from Crimea who did not betray Ukraine in 2014.
The President noted that for some reason their loyalty to the oath had been invisible to the authorities, and they had lived in appalling conditions.
"It is a shame that they have not yet received a worthy gratitude from the state. But I am glad that justice has finally prevailed," he said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that those were only the first steps towards improving the living conditions of navy men.
"I will do my best to make Ukrainian navy men feel like real superheroes that Ukraine desperately needs," the President stressed.
