In Kyiv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez.
The President thanked Pedro Sánchez for visiting Ukraine on the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, calling it a strong signal of Spain’s support. During the visit, the Prime Minister announced a new €1 billion military aid package for Ukraine this year.
Among the key topics of discussion were efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace, as well as security guarantees.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Pedro Sánchez also discussed the battlefield situation and the needs of Ukrainian warriors, paying special attention to air defense and investments in domestic drone production.
Additionally, they discussed the opening of a unity hub in Spain. Both sides are preparing to sign a Joint Declaration of Intent regarding the establishment of Ukrainian "Unity Centers."
