President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting on preparations for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence. The event was attended by Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, his Deputy Ihor Zhovkva and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba.

The plan of celebrations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence and the launch of the Crimean Platform were discussed in detail. Strategically, these events should take place with the involvement of the international community. All partners and friends of Ukraine, leaders of other states will be invited by letters signed by the President. However, during phone conversations with foreign leaders, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also discusses plans for the future and invites them to join the celebration and the Crimean Platform.

"Independence Day is a big holiday for Ukraine. But we have long been an equal player in the international arena. Celebrating this important date - the 30th anniversary of independence - together with our friends and partners will help strengthen our positions. At the age of 30, we are still so young, we have so much ahead, yet we already have invaluable experience that can strengthen our relations and help others," the President said.

The President also stressed that so far there has been no platform to determine ways to return Crimea.

"We will not give up our territories. This terrible mistake wasn’t made by us, but it is we who have to correct it. It is wrong that no one has thought about the return of Crimea since 2014 and until my administration. The Crimean Platform will become a platform that will unite our international partners who support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders. These are not empty words for me. There are clear actions behind them," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

The Crimean Platform Summit is scheduled to take place on the eve of Independence Day, August 23, 2021.
