Restoration of the Izyum hospital is among the priority areas of activity of the Olena Zelenska Foundation - the First Lady at the presentation in Paris

First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska presented her charity foundation during her visit to France. During the presentation in Paris, the wife of the President announced that one of the priorities is the fundraising for the restoration of the city hospital in Izyum. According to the First Lady, the reconstruction of infrastructure will be the best support for people in the liberated territories.

The funds will be used to restore the hospital building destroyed by the Russian invaders and the property stolen by the invaders.

"The Russian military stole almost all surviving equipment, beds from the COVID department, oxygen concentrators. The fundraising for the restoration of this hospital is now a priority project of my Foundation," Olena Zelenska said.

First Lady of the French Republic Brigitte Macron opened the charity evening dedicated to the presentation of the Foundation. She heard a lot from Olena Zelenska about the hospital in Izyum - one of the most important in the east of Ukraine.

"We will always be with you. France will always be there for you. Rebuilding the largest hospital in Izyum is what unites us today," said Brigitte Macron.

Izyum Central City Hospital is one of the largest medical institutions in the de-occupied Kharkiv region. Before the war, the hospital served almost 150,000 people, and 547 specialists worked there.

Now the facility is operating at 10% capacity. During the occupation, four operating units and an intensive care unit were destroyed, the tomograph was destroyed, and the elevator shaft was damaged. All buildings have broken windows, walls have traces of shrapnel hits.

Despite the destruction, doctors continue to save the lives and health of an increasing number of patients. In addition to chronic and seasonal diseases, which are aggravated by the lack of heat and light, complex injuries are added: people are blown up on "petal" mines. The nearest hospital is 120 km along dangerous mined roads.

The First Lady of Ukraine emphasized that the support for people in the de-occupied Kharkiv region, as well as in all Ukrainian lands freed from the occupiers, is the highest manifestation of solidarity on the part of friendly nations.

The Olena Zelenska Foundation is a charitable organization whose mission is to restore the human capital of Ukraine so that every citizen feels physically and mentally healthy, protected, able to realize their right to education and build a future in their native country.
