President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The President noted the importance of further cooperation with Egypt, which is Ukraine's main trading partner in Africa. Volodymyr Zelenskyy reaffirmed his readiness to develop bilateral relations and increase the supply of domestic products to the market of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
For his part, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed that his country is interested in expanding relations with Ukraine in all areas, including the creation of a hub of Ukrainian companies and their participation in Egyptian industrial zones.
In order to intensify bilateral cooperation, the heads of state agreed to hold a meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between Ukraine and the Arab Republic of Egypt in the near future, as well as talks at the level of foreign ministers.
The President of Egypt noted the positive development of interpersonal contacts between the two countries and said that Ukrainians make up the majority of foreign tourists in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked for the introduction of a Ukrainian-language hotline to provide advisory services to Ukrainian citizens residing in Egypt.
The parties exchanged views on measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic, which are being implemented in both countries.
Separately, the interlocutors discussed prospects and specific projects in the field of military-technical cooperation. The President of Ukraine stressed that the potential for cooperation in the space industry remains untapped.
The heads of state also discussed the possibility of creating new formats of cooperation at the highest level.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed the President of Egypt about the results of the founding summit of the Crimea Platform.
In addition, the President of Ukraine invited Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to pay a visit to Ukraine.
