During an official visit to the Netherlands, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
The Head of State expressed gratitude to His Majesty for the comprehensive support of the Netherlands for Ukraine in the defense of our freedom and independence, as well as for the personal care of the King and the Royal Family for Ukrainians who came to the Netherlands seeking refuge from the war.
“Since the first days of Russia's attack, we have felt that the Netherlands and the entire Dutch people stand with Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
The Head of State praised the close partnership that Ukraine and the Netherlands have built over the past year at many levels.
The President of Ukraine also noted the symbolism of the fact that the audience with the King of the Netherlands took place on the important Remembrance Day for his country, when the Dutch people pay tribute to the soldiers and civilians killed during World War II, as well as in other military conflicts and peacekeeping missions.
