President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the warriors of the Center of Special Operations "A" of the Security Service of Ukraine on the 30th anniversary of the unit's establishment, presented state awards, conferred military ranks on their leaders and presented them with shoulder boards.
The President noted that the Center of Special Operations "A" of the Security Service of Ukraine is an indispensable and one of the best combat units in Ukraine.
"Your combat results had a positive impact on all the strategic battles of this war – from defending Kyiv to clearing the Black Sea of the enemy, from battles in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions to special operations in the strategic depths of enemy territory," he emphasized.
Among the results of the Center of Special Operations "A" of the Security Service of Ukraine is the destruction of Russia's economic potential working for the war through strikes on oil infrastructure: more than 30 Russian oil refineries, terminals and bases were hit.
"For the SSU drones, a distance of 1,500 kilometers is no longer a problem. Together with the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and our intelligence, these are very significant results that bring about a just end to this war for Ukraine, ensure real, tangible, painful accountability of Russia for everything it has done against Ukraine and our people," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President honored the warriors with state awards, including the title of Hero of Ukraine and the Order of the Golden Star, the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky II-III class, the Orders "For Courage" I-III class, and the Order of Princess Olga III class.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also presented the shoulder boards of Major General to the Head of the Center of Special Operations "A" of the Security Service of Ukraine Yevhen Khmara and the shoulder boards of Brigadier General to the First Deputy Head of the Center Denys Kylymnyk.
