During a working trip to the Poltava region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy got himself acquainted with the progress of construction of the first concrete highway in Ukraine N-31 Dnipro – Tsarychanka – Kobelyaky – Reshetylivka, which is being constructed in the framework of the National Program “Great Construction”.
The Head of State inspected a section of the route within the Kobelyaky district in the Poltava region. The road has the status of national. It starts from the international highway M03/E40 Kyiv – Poltava – Kharkiv and connects the capital and Dnipro with Zaporizhzhia.
The construction is carried out in the framework of the state investment project under the budget program. The road is being constructed under new technology - it is made of concrete and is planned to be expanded to four lanes.
According to Head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, the construction of the part of the road in the Poltava region is carried out according to the plan.
The President of Ukraine stressed the need to complete the construction of the entire road, including the 29 km lane in the Dnipropetrovsk region, by the beginning of winter this year.
"We agreed that in 2020 we would finish this story. The whole road is not only the Poltava region. The road must be completed. This is an ambitious plan,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the Head of Ukravtodor.
In addition, the construction of a bridge over the Vorskla River in the area of Kobelyaky was restored. The abutments have already been built and the construction of the bridge piers is ongoing. The length of the crossing is 145.3 meters. It is expected to be completed in 2020.
Overall, over 95 km of new asphalt pavement will appear in the region. In particular, the overhaul of 33.2 km of roads and the repair of 61.8 km of motorways are envisaged.
Also, Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration Oleh Syniehubov told the President about other objects being constructed in the region under the Great Construction program. In particular, the reconstruction of four existing schools and the construction of a new one are ongoing. All of them will be hub schools. The construction of educational institutions is funded by local and state budgets.
In addition, five kindergartens and four stadiums are being renovated, and a new stadium and sports complex are planned to be built.
Eight hospital ERs are being built and construction of a new building of the Poltava Regional Clinical Cardiology Health Center is being completed.
The construction of the Service Center in Poltava has begun, and the restoration of the Poltava Regional Philharmonic Hall is also planned.
The President said he would like to personally see the construction under the National Program.
“An ambitious goal and one of the ambitious roads is Dnipro – Reshetylivka. I see the construction is continued. Nothing stops and a bridge over Vorskla will also be built,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said while talking to media representatives.
“I did not come for one hour, so I want to take a ride and see the construction with my own eyes. Not only on maps and photos, but in real life,” the President added.
