President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced that the decree on the development and implementation of measures to support culture and cultural heritage, development of creative industries and tourism in the framework of the "Great Construction", which he signed on August 18, will promote the development of the industry. The Head of State told this during a visit to the Zaporizhzhia Sich historical and cultural complex of the Khortytsia National Reserve.
"The decree is a plan for the sector, which provides one of the largest percentages of GDP for the country's economy. You may not believe it, but we are talking about culture and creative economy," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He noted that it is a matter of restoration and filling with new content of museums, castles and theaters, which, according to the President, will increase the number of spectators and tourists.
Thanks to the implementation of the decree, the film industry will be able to attract additional investment and create new jobs, and folk arts will preserve traditions and increase exports on a par with design and fashion. Tourism in Ukraine will be a worthy competitor to traveling abroad, and culture will finally return to the regions thanks to modern centers of cultural services.
"And this is also the development and prosperity of the new generation of Ukrainians," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, noting that the implementation of the program is designed for four years.
"During this time, we will begin to change the perception of the importance of culture in the lives of Ukrainians and the state. We’ll show all its previously underestimated opportunities. This is a new revival for culture," he said.
