During a working trip to the Odesa region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the opening of the reconstructed stadium of school № 1 in Yuzhne. The stadium was renovated in the framework of the “Great Construction" program.
Renovation work on the sports ground has been carried out for the first time since 1979, when the school was built.
"It's a beautiful stadium. It is very important. The main thing is that it is important for children. And that the whole team - local government, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ukravtodor - fulfills the promises. Therefore, I am very glad that the construction of this stadium has been completed in the framework of our program," the Head of State said.
Due to the reconstruction, two schools located next to the stadium will be able to hold sports competitions simultaneously.
During the examination of the infrastructure projects implemented in the Odesa region in the framework of the "Great Construction" program, Chairman of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov reported to the President that the bridge across the Khadzhibey Estuary was among the landmarks. This is a long-term project, which has been under construction for 12 years.
"Now the contractor is working, we plan to open the first half - three lanes - in late August or early September. In the spring of next year, we plan to fully open (the bridge - ed.), and then all six lanes will work,” the Chairman of Ukravtodor noted.
Oleksandr Kubrakov apologized to the drivers for the inconvenience and traffic jams caused by the construction, but assured that by May next year the bridge would have been fully ready.
The second large object in the region is the M-05 Kyiv - Odesa highway.
"A loan agreement has already been signed with the EBRD and the European Investment Bank. Project documentation is being developed. It will be a major overhaul of 314 kilometers from Odesa, and then there is a normal road. Construction will begin next year," Oleksandr Kubrakov said.
Another important route for the region is the Р-33, which will connect six districts. The length of the road in the Odesa region is 110 km.
"We have already put into operation the first sites. It is planned to cover 50 km this year,” the head of Ukravtodor said.
In the Odesa region, 163 km of state roads will be restored in the framework of the "Great Construction" program in 2020.
