In Kherson, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy got himself acquainted with the course of construction works in the ER department of the city clinical hospital named after Y. Y. Karabelesh, the reconstruction of which takes place in the framework of the National Program "Great Construction".
"The Kherson region is among the leaders in construction, for me it is especially important that we have high-quality and comfortable medicine. Eight ER departments are enough now. The main thing is to ensure speed, to have all the modern equipment. This is the health of our people," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
Director of the hospital Alla Malytska noted that after the reconstruction, the ER department would change not only its technical conditions, but also the philosophy and procedure for admission of patients.
"We used to waste a lot of time calling a lab technician, moving patients to other departments for diagnosis - such as X-rays. Now the equipment will be available in these departments. Intensive care units will also be opened in the ER departments. That is, if a patient needs emergency medical care, it will be provided on the spot,” Alla Malytska said.
Also in the framework of the "Great Construction" program, six schools and kindergartens are being built and reconstructed in the region, which are to start operating in the period from August 2020 to September 2021. In addition, eight sports facilities are planned to be built by September 2021. Their construction will make it possible to find at least a temporary replacement for those bases to which Ukraine lost access due to the occupation of the Crimean peninsula.
In addition, Kherson RSA Head Yuriy Husev noted that together with the Presidential Representation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the issue of providing medical care to Crimeans in the Kherson region is being worked out, so eight new ER departments will be useful.
