In the city of Zolotonosha, Cherkasy region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska observed the new indoor pool at the gymnasium named after S. Sklyarenko built within the Large Construction National Program.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that after the construction of the indoor pool next year it is planned to begin reconstruction of the building of the gymnasium.

"I would like it to be a big center - not just a swimming pool. There will be a sports ground for children and a school," the President said.

The Head of State was also informed about the implementation of the Large Construction National Program in the Cherkasy region. This year 17 social infrastructure facilities will be built in the region.

In addition, in the framework of the Large Construction program in the Cherkasy region, 259 km of roads are being built this year (224.3 km in 2020).

"In two years, 500 km of roads for the Cherkasy region is a serious result. Dozens of times more than in any year since Ukraine's independence. I think that in a couple of years we will finish all the main roads in the Cherkasy region," the President said during a conversation with the media.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that a multifunctional sports complex in Uman, several swimming pools and an ice arena in Cherkasy will be built in the framework of the Large Construction in the region.

"These are all programs that begin in 2022," he added.

"I think that Cherkasy has everything: people, unique places, history. We just need to bring all this to a normal quality appearance," the Head of State said.

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Large Restoration also involves the reconstruction of the historic center of Kaniv.

"It is important that there is access and a tourist opportunity for Ukrainians, and not only for Ukrainians, to see the Kobzar's grave and the beautiful park around the grave," the President said.
