Ukraine and Azerbaijan have great potential for enhanced economic cooperation, as stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"We have discussed in detail with Mr. President (of Azerbaijan - ed.) the strengthening of our partnership, which is very important for our countries," the Head of State said in a statement to the media following a meeting with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the effective operation of trading houses would help strengthen cooperation.
“I will remind you that the Azerbaijani Trading House has successfully operated in Kyiv since 2018, and today, the Ukrainian Trading House in Azerbaijan will be opened,” the President said.
The Head of State also reminded that the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani business forum would be held today.
"I am sure that the business circles of our countries have many topics for discussion, and we look forward to clear, concrete results of their interaction," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
The Head of State noted that further growth of mutual investments, inter alia, through the implementation of large joint projects was of crucial importance.
“In this context, a good example is the acquisition by the leading mobile operator of Azerbaijan Bakcell of the mobile operator Vodafone Ukraine. This will significantly strengthen the Ukrainian telecommunications market,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President is confident that the given example will inspire other Azerbaijani investors.
"I am pleased to invite you to Ukraine, where the future privatization will open great, significant opportunities for Azerbaijani business," the Head of State emphasized.
