Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak had an online meeting with Irish rock musician, U2 vocalist Bono.
Andriy Yermak thanked Bono for his strong support and assistance to Ukraine during the full-scale war unleashed by Russia.
The Head of the President's Office noted that Ukraine continues to courageously resist Russian aggression and at the same time makes great diplomatic efforts to prepare a plan to achieve a just peace for our country.
To this end, the Global Peace Summit will be held in Switzerland on June 15-16, and Ukraine is seeking to involve as many countries as possible in it, including the Global South.
Andriy Yermak urged Bono to support the idea of the Global Peace Summit and spread the word about it. After all, this event should lay the foundation for ending Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine, resolving all the crises caused by this war, and restoring the power of international law.
"You can help in this, as your voice is known and heard by millions of people, and it is louder than the voices of many politicians," the Head of the Presidential Office emphasized.
The conversation took place on Bono's birthday, and he noted that his greatest wish is for Ukraine to remain free.
"Ukrainians are true heroes. Today you are at the forefront of the struggle for freedom for all of us. Ukrainians have an indomitable spirit. A spirit that cannot be conquered," U2 frontman said.
U2 leaders Bono and The Edge came to Kyiv at the invitation of Volodymyr Zelenskyy in May 2022 to demonstrate solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
